Clarity on this art project

I wasn't exactly sure when I started this venture where it was headed, not unusual in my life!
One thing was certain, taking the opportunity to paint subjects that I don't normally do as part of my known body of work.

First few were landscapes, which are fun for me because what I usually paint is very realistic and the landscapes I am doing are very not that. Well, the project has shaped up like this:

I will be doing a continuing series of simple landscapes, each will be signed, numbered and dated on the back.
You should see a progression with the work, now that It has come to me what the purpose of this project is, to continue to learn and grow as an artist one has to try new things, experiment. It's difficult sometimes for me to do that with my traditional subjects. There is no pressure here however, no one is expecting anything, most importantly, including me!

So I see the future works as being studies in color and brushwork.

Here are the newest two landscapes, both are 5x7. The one on the top is so far my favorite, and is the direction they will start going to from here. More color, moody.
Both paintings are sold.

Listing artwork on Ebay

These paintings are sold.

(I will be signing the paintings with a 'brush name', thus protecting the ever fragile artist behind the curtain mystique. I'm sure that my true identity will be revealed eventually, and certainly in time for your kids to take the works and certificate to the Antiques Roadshow!)

The artist's world of marketing

My most recent art sales have been a medium sized original for just under $1000, and two miniature originals for $250 a piece. Pleasing. But Ebay is fun and just because I've got a reputation to uphold, I don't want to miss out on it.

So, I've decided to do some small works that don't conflict with my regular body of work, and also to be anonymous so I don't conflict with my license agreements, contracts and gallery.

Currently I have four live auctions on ebay, just testing the water. The great thing is, it's not my usual high priced work, I don't really care how much they sell for, so I'm not feeling any pressure. That helps me to loosen up and experiment if you will, which helps me to grow as an artist!

Introduction from the Artist

So, you can be anything you want to be. Right now, I want to be anonymous. Doing without the established reputation, anything expected or assumed. This blog is about anonymity, freedom of speech, the ability to say whatever I want to, whatever I am thinking or experiencing with no judgment at all. Any and every up and down of being an artist!
